The Rarity of Clarity

Something important is becoming rare
and I think we have all been aware,
that the world, especially the one in our pockets,
has been infecting us through our eye sockets.

It isn't hard to see why,
an endless stream of stimuli
is wreaking havoc on the mind
leaving no room to unwind.

The average person, not just on the street,
is hypnotized and sucked in on repeat,
their faces lit by that sickening glare,
so that we may see their soulless stare.

The new normal is an endless state of distraction.
To the big corporations' and advertisers' satisfaction.
For as long as we remain out of touch with ourselves,
They will sell us whatever they've got on their shelves.

Our minds being too cloudy to see,
that those desires don't belong to ME.
If only we could have just a little more clarity,
attention wouldn't be donated like money to a charity.

If we would truly leave ourselves alone,
the muddy waters would clear up on their own.
With the mind clear like a still lake,
vision would return and we'd be awake.

Awake to love and do what resonates deeply within,
in unison with whatever makes this whole thing spin.
